Calcaneal spur

Calcaneal spur

This patient has a large spur (arrow) arising from the plantar aspect of the calcaneus. These occur at the origin of the plantar fascia and usually represent the result of longstanding traction in patients with plantar fasciitis. They are more common in people with psoriatic arthritis, but can occur in anyone.
