Acute subdural haematoma

Acute subdural haematoma

Acute subdural haematoma. This example (axial non-contrast CT on the left, coronal on the right) shows a huge crescent-shaped high attenuation subdural haematoma, extending over the frontal, parietal and temporal lobes. Unlike an extradural haematoma, the haemorrhage extends across the suture lines. There is a large amount of midline shift in this example, and there is compression of the left lateral ventricle with dilatation of the right lateral ventricle.
